Trocadero is an area located in the 16th administrative district of Paris, France. It is situated across the River Seine from the Eiffel Tower. This district is 13 km (8 miles) from the city centre. It is characterised by a concentration of museums and hosts the new Palais de Chaillot and the Jardins du Trocadéro. Five avenues begin in the area: Henri-Martin, Paul Doumer, d’Eylau, Kléber and du Président Wilson.
Four large global companies have their headquartered office space and other facilities in Trocadero: the auto manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroën, the holding company PPR, Lafarge (building materials), and Veolia (environmental service). In addition, the French mass media company Lagardère is located here. The city and regions surrounding Paris are one of the richest municipalities in Europe and in the world. The largest sector of the economy is based on tourism and professional leisure activities. Other industrial sectors include entertainment and culture, and high-tech manufacturing.

Trocadero has a lot to offer in terms of sights and activities. Enjoy a great perspective of the Eiffel Tower and the left bank of the River Seine from Palais du Trocadéro. The largest Monet collection in the world is featured at Musée Marmottan. While the oldest operating amusement park in the world, Jardin d’Acclimatation is also in the area. Other nearby attractions includes Bois de Boulogne, a park which annually hosts the Roland Garros tennis tournament. Visitors can enjoy other spectator sports in the area, such as horse-racing, as well as the matches of the football club Paris Saint-Germain and the rugby club Stade Français. Beauvais-Tillé Airport is a third option with international and domestic service from Beauvais, France, situated just is 85 km (53 miles) the city centre. Trocadero is serviced by a Paris Metro station, serving the lines 6 and 9. This is also a regional bus stop for the RATP Buses 22, 30, 32 and 63, as well as the night buses N53. Gare du Nord is just a short journey along lines 6 and 4 and offers national rail travel as well as the Eurostar which travels across Europe to destinations such as Brussels, Calais, London and Bruges.
