This spa town offers great shopping, locally produced wine, unique food, and a great café culture that isn’t to be missed. Entertainment And Dining Out

Don’t miss trying out one of the spas in Budapest. With an incredible number of thermal springs in the area, this is a major European spa destination. Take a bath and luxuriate in one of the last remnants of Turkish culture in Budapest. While some of these baths date back to Turkish times, the experience has been tailored by the Hungarians into their own design during the last four centuries. Dining in Budapest typically revolves around meat and the liberal use of paprika. There are many places to try authentic Hungarian Goulash such as The Blue Rose Restaurant, in the city centre, for a true taste of Hungary. There are some fabulous dinner cruise options on the Danube. This way you can enjoy the authentic Hungarian cuisine, while taking in the intoxicating views. The company Hungaria Koncert Ltd. offers several Danube cruises.

Transport Information

Budapest Franz Liszt International Airport is the country’s largest airport, located about 16 km (10 miles) south east of the city centre. The main railway stations are Keleti pályaudvar (Eastern Railway Station), Déli pályaudvar (Southern Railway Station) and Nyugati pályaudvar (Western Railway Station). It is worth nothing that these stations names do not match their geographic location in the city. Hungary’s national bus network is operated by Volán Association. If you are coming to Budapest from another Hungarian city the bus is often the best option.
