Area Information

Situated in the north-central part of Spain, Bilbao is 14 km (8.7 miles) south of the Bay of Biscay. The urban area of the city is cradled within two small mountain ranges. Bilbao is a city, a municipality, and the capital of the province of Biscay within Basque County. This area is one of most populated regions in northern Spain. Bilbao is home to the Guggenheim Museum. Transport Information

Located 12 km (7.46 miles) north of Bilbao, between the municipalities of Loiu and Sondika is the Bilbao Airport. This is the busiest terminal in the Basque Country and on the entire Northern coast of Spain. The underground network (Metro Bilbao) has several lines that connect the Bilbao Metropolitan Area. Besides the Metro, there is also a bus network, and tram.
